Margins of the Heart

Being understood

Original story concept

When bookseller Imani finds a penciled conversation inside a donated novel, she asks Leena, a meticulous paper conservator, to help trace its origins. Their investigation leads through forgotten inscriptions, old neighborhood addresses, and books that seem to arrive at exactly the right moment. Imani trusts instinct; Leena prefers evidence. As their working sessions become the brightest part of the week, each begins to recognize what the other has been afraid to say. Solving someone else’s unfinished love story becomes an invitation to write a beginning together, in their own words.
