The Sea Between Sundays

Closeness across distance

Original story concept

Owen repairs the ferry that connects a small island to the mainland. Luis makes ceramics in a studio above its harbor. A delayed crossing turns a practical conversation into a Sunday lunch, then into a rhythm neither wants to lose. Their affection grows through borrowed books, carefully wrapped bowls, and the ordinary news shared between visits. When Owen’s work takes him farther away and Luis receives the chance to expand his studio, they resist easy promises. Together, they begin inventing a version of commitment that honors both the connection they cherish and the lives they love.
